About the Artist
Classically trained on piano and “smoky, sweet and verbose (in the best ways)” (Scoutmob), singer-songwriter Rachel Zylstra turns phrases on themes of longing, uncertainty, God, faith, and finding one’s place. A child of the Midwest now in Edinburgh, her “naturalistic folk songs … carry the hallmarks of both” (Sputnik).
Parallel to big personal change in the last 5 years, Rachel continues to write new music, record, and play concerts as permitted! January 2021 saw the release of a new long-gestating album of hymns and sacred songs, ‘On Faith’.
